Summer means birthday season for our family. With the warm weather means outdoor parties and last week we celebrated a low waste Coachella themed birthday party with close friends and family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I opted for reusable paper honeycomb balls and paper tassels for decorations. I’ll be able to use these again and again for other parties through out the year. Because instead of using tape to hold them open I opted to use paperclips. which make for super quick and easy pack up. ⠀⠀⠀
We borrowed pallet tables, cushion’s, table clothes, cake stands, baskets and more party decorations like the giant dream catchers from @apartytoremember.com.au . Borrowing and hiring party decor reduces waste and allows you to use props and decor you wouldn’t normally have access to or a need to use again.
The hire process is quick and simple through the website and Charlotte was amazing to deal with and so helpful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Food for our guests was home made with the exception of the cake (this mumma was too time poor to bake and decorate the cake so a big thanks @Coles) served on platters and plates we already own and all scraps and left overs went to my girls very appreciative pets chickens. We used a glass drink dispenser and reusable cups to keep everyone hydrated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For entertainment we used a giant Jenga set, hula hoops, imagination and a piñata. ⠀
Party bags of course matched the digital invites and i personalised them for each guest using their name.
All in all we were able to keep our party waste to a minimum and still have a fantastic time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
